Transport on Aore Island is very different to a city taxi service. Vehicles are working utes and trucks used daily around the island, and drivers often leave what they are doing to assist with transfers when booked.

Because of this, transport must be arranged in advance. The more notice you give, the easier it is to secure a driver, especially during busy periods or when multiple arrivals are happening.

Most trips are short and practical, and depending on availability, you may be seated in the back of a ute. This is a normal part of island life and how people move around Aore.

Island taxis are best used for arrivals with luggage, transfers from the boat landing to your accommodation, or when you prefer not to walk in the heat. The house is approximately a 20-minute walk from the landing point, but transport can be arranged for convenience.
