Getting to Aore Island
Aore Island is easy to reach with regular connections through Port Vila. There are around 12 flights a week between Port Vila and Santo, making it simple to plan your arrival. Once you land at Pekoa International Airport in Santo, we arrange a short 10-minute boat transfer across the channel directly to Aore Island and the beach house.

Day 1 - Arrive & Settle In

Day 2- Snorkelling & Island Life

Spend the day exploring the simple pleasures of island life. Snorkel the reef just in front of the house where tropical fish move through clear warm water, then join locals in preparing a relaxed island lunch using fresh ingredients. Take a walk through the nearby village to see daily life on Aore, and end the day with sunset drinks and a traditional shell of kava as the evening settles in.
Day 3 Local Mummas markets

Take a short boat trip across the channel to Santo and spend the day exploring Luganville. Visit the local markets filled with fresh tropical fruit, vegetables, island foods, and handmade crafts. Wander through town, meet friendly locals, and stop for lunch at one of the many cafés or small restaurants where you can choose from simple local dishes or western-style meals. It’s an easy and interesting day trip that adds another side of island life to your stay.
Day 4 - Tour around Aore
- Visit the famous Nasara rocks from chiefs meeting gone by
- Swim in freshwater pond and see the Bech de mer pond
- See the WW2 ground houses and massive nubunga trees
Travel inland from the plantation in a working island ute, riding in the tray as you head through bush tracks and village land to explore some of Aore’s hidden history. Visit the famous Nasara stones where chiefs once gathered for traditional meetings, swim in a cool freshwater pond, and see the Beche-de-mer ponds used along the coast. Along the way you’ll also discover old World War II ground houses and towering Nubunga trees, giving a glimpse into the island’s past and the landscapes that have shaped village life for generations.
Day 5 - Plantation & Local Food

Take a tour through the working plantation and see cocoa, vanilla, and pepper growing in the rich island soil. Day 6 - Island Boat Adventure
