⚠️ Eating Your Catch

Some tropical reef fish can carry ciguatera toxin, and it cannot be reliably identified simply by looking at the fish.

If you're fortunate enough to catch something you'd like to eat, check with your host or an experienced local before preparing or eating any reef fish.

🌴 Respecting Local Waters

Fishing around Aore isn't just recreation — the ocean is an important source of food for local families.

Please respect local fishing areas, reefs and community rules. Some areas may have restrictions or local conservation practices, so ask before fishing somewhere unfamiliar and follow the advice of your host or local guide.

Please don't fish directly in front of village areas or within protected areas unless you've been told it's okay to do so.
